“To me conscious fashion means being aware of who made the clothes I chose to wear, and trying to make a change in the fashion industry and how producing clothes affects the earth. I believe that a piece of clothing and our style can reflect what we believe in and our values.”
What influenced you to start thinking more about how your clothes are made?
I watched a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot online. Also when I walked into shops I got very thoughtful about all the clothes there and how they were made. I also wanted a smaller wardrobe with pieces that I love.
What have you learned or discovered on your conscious fashion journey?
I have learned that conscious fashion can be stylish and it is not as difficult as it might seem. My closet in not entirely green, but when I make new purchases I research more before I buy it.
Do you have any difficulties with shopping inline with your values or areas you’re working on improving?
It can be difficult to find shoes without leather, but I really want to avoid it. I am very conscious about materials and that no animal was harmed in the making of it.
What are your wardrobe staples?
I like wearing a simple black high waist trouser, that´s one of the pieces I never get tired of. I also like skirts made of linen or lyocell for summer.
