To me conscious fashion means… “Be aware of the circumstances under which your clothing was made, as well as the impact the production process has had on the environment.”
What influenced you to start thinking more about how your clothes are made?
I became vegan after looking into where my food came from and how it was produced, so the next step for me was to question the manufacturing process of my clothing.
What have you learned or discovered on your conscious fashion journey?
That although sustainable and ethical fashion isn’t yet mainstream, the community and demand for it is growing. There are a lot of amazing brands out there trying to change the status quo, as well as consumers who are willing to support them.
Do you have any difficulties with shopping inline with your values or areas you’re working on improving?
Not really. I seem to be able to find pretty much everything that I am searching for. If it isn’t available in Australia, then someone is doing it overseas. The only thing is you have to do a lot of research to find brands.
What are your wardrobe staples?
Jeans, boots and sneakers
